Mithili-Made Products
The Mithili products are handmade in the eastern Terai region of Nepal. The Mithili culture has its own language and a rich literary tradition. The paintings as seen on these products are traditional work as found on their homes and temples. The work has passed through generations. This project is a literacy project as well as keeping a rich artisitic tradition alive. The paper/wood is from the Daphne bush and is a sustainable product. The paint is bio-friendly and non-toxic to the environment.
